Version 5.7 - Added material about laptop computers to the
equipment purchasing tutorial and references to laptops in the
bibliography/reading list tutorial.
Version 5.6 - Updated DOS tutorials to include DOS 5.0
commands. Batch file tutorial updated and additional batch
file examples added. Expanded glossary. Added list of online
services to modem tutorial. Added list of contact organizations
for computing resources to assist disabled - see tips and tricks
tutorial. Modified installation system to reliable install.com
from older install.bat.
Version 5.5 - Updated following tutorials: glossary, virus,
graphics displays, equipment purchasing. Added option to print
registraton from installation program. Danish language PC-Learn
version completed. Added manufacturer specific telephone numbers
to support tutorial. 4DOS conflict with PC-Learn installation
problem fixed. PC-Learn wins award from Johns Hopkins National
Competition on Computing to Assist Persons with Disabilities.
Version 5.4 - Added list of U.S. computer clubs to user group
tutorial. Installation procedure modified and upgraded to LHA
system. Added special routine for Tandy computers containing
older, non-standard BIOS chips.
Version 5.3 - Fixed minor keyboard incompatibilities on a few PC
clones. Text search feature in PCL.EXE improved.
Version 5.2 - New procedure allows for installation to 360K
floppies as well as hard drives and high density floppy disks.
Telephone support tutorial added. New PC owner tutorial added.
Vendors, VARS, and Disk Distributors may now request a custom
advertising message on main PC-LEARN splash screen.
Version 5.1 - Installation allows configuration for floppy
drives of size: 720K, 1.2M, 1.44M as well as hard drives.
Added tutorials: environmentally sensitive computing, using
shareware.
Version 5.0 - Added high speed machine code routines assisted by
C++ to produce a menu system with popdown, mouseable driver and
other features. Screen displays adapt automatically to Hercules,
monochrome or color systems. Upgrade developed in cooperation
with U.S. Micro Express Computer Stores of Bellevue, Washington.
Version 4.xx - Upgrade prototypes not released to general
public.
Version 3.74 and earlier - Used simple compiled batch file menu
system. Monochrome.
Version 1.74 - Early system. Essential tutorials on DOS, batch
files, glossary and history developed.
Version 1.71 - Very early system beta tested by Mercer Island
Computer club as newsletter articles in club newsletter.
